I just started driving my new Wagon R Vxi in Bangalore. I was driving down the Airport road from Trinity road at a reasonable speed as its a fast moving stretch. I happened to see cops in a van with a speed detecting device. But the strange thing was that I din't notice any speed-limit sign anywhere on the road. After asking a few colleagues and searching on the net, I found this:
http://www.bcp.gov.in/english/trafficpolice/trafficdos/speedlimit.html
According to this site, If you are driving a car, the speed limit is 50 or 60 Kmph (depending on the road you are driving on). For bikes it is 50 or 40 Kmph and for mopeds it is 35 or 30 Kmph.
This traffic police site specifies the speed limits to be followed on different roads. So I guess anybody driving in Bangalore must first log-in to the Web and go through the traffic police site to know the speed limits!
